Mega Quilt Delivery from Australia

Here at last are pictures of the mega delivery received from Annette (Voodoo Vixen), who is in Australia. Annette made a few quilts last year whilst she was in her home in Scotland before she moved to Australia after living for a few years in Calgary. I bet she isn't missing this Winter in Calgary and is enjoying the sunshine of the Antipodes.
It was an utter surprise and such a thrill to receive this huge box of 5 quilts which annette so kindly mailed by sea in October. A long time at sea but so worthwhile.
Just look at the size of that boxful and a huge THANK YOU goes out, back across all that sea, to Annette.
Another Super Star Quilter with a heart of gold!
Here's a soft "raggy quilt in bright colours.....
No 80
A pastel scene next with a story on it just waiting to be told about the elephants and that cute little bird up in the branch.
No 81
I love Annette's detail of the added ribbon like bunting on the branch. Such a good idea as so many children love the comfort of stroking satin ribbon.
Here's an alphabet quilt with different animals standing for each letter. P for Porcupine, R for Racoon, Q for Quetzal (must look up that one and see if they are regulars in Australia?!!!)
No 82
A bevvy of butterflies on this square quilt will be so pretty for an older child.
No 84
Planes and trains and even a fire engine for lots of story lines on this one.
No 85
They all came tucked into handy totes and had a selection of special extras such as Comfort NooNoos and tiny, cute, drawstring bags.
They will all be so appreciated by the children in the unit and their families will be so thrilled to discover that they have come so far especially for them.

  7. Hi Jo
what a fabulous selection of quilts... it must have been like Christmas all over again. I had to google a quetzal as I had never heard of it, its from south America so this is a really well travelled quilt.

  8. Oh wow, those quilts have had a long journey!
I just love all the fun colours and especially the alphabet one with the animals on. It just goes to show that you learn something every day, because I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a Quetzal
Annette, you’ve done a fantastic job, well done.

    Happy Stitching!
